ABOUT CHINO: Chino is a city in the San Bernardino County of California. Is located in the western end of Riverside – San Bernardino Area and is close by to the Chino Valley and Pomona freeways. The population as of 2010 was 77,983. Chino is a agriculture and dairy farming, serving the demands for milk products in Southern California.

HISTORY OF CHINO: The first inhabitants of Chino were the Tongva, who had a settlement called Wapijangna near the Santa Ana River Watershed. Most of the Wapijanga were baptized at the San Gabriel Mission in 1771. Early in the Mexican-American War, the Battle of Chino took place at the Williams rancho.

During the California Gold Rush, the rancho was a popular stopover for travelers, this is where coal was discovered. In 1850 California was admitted to the unions and that’s when the public for domain began.

POLITICS: The state legislature in chino is located in the 29th Senate District, represented by Republican Bob Huff, and the 61st Assembly District is represented by a democrat. Chino is located in the California’s 42nd congressional district.
