During the process of posting bail, we can start the paperwork. There are several ways we can do the paperwork, fax, e-mail, we can meet you at the office or meet you right at the jail. We can always come to you at no additional charge.
HOW LONG DOES THE PAPERWORK TAKE
The paperwork takes about 20 minutes to complete from start to finish. Fax or by e-mail is one of the fastest ways to start the process and you don’t have to leave your home or office. Once the jail receives the bond, it can take 2 to 4 hours for the release of the person in custody. This is dependent on how fast the jail can process the bond. Once we post the bond, it’s out of our hands, we cannot speed up the process again it’s up to the jail. We understand this is a stressful time, and we will keep in touch with the jail and the family during the whole release process. We want to make sure that the defendant gets released in timely manner.
CAN I GOT OUT OF CUSTODY ON MY OWN – CITE RELEASE
Yes you can get out on your own recognizance it depends on the crime and weather you are charged with a misdemeanor or felony. It also depends on whether you have ever been arrested (priors) and your ties to the community will be taken into account. When bail amounts are set by the county judges, there are certain crimes that are low flight risk and not usually very serious. When released on your own recognizance or cite released, you will sign a promise to appear in court each and every time you are ordered to do so by the court, until your case is over with. If you fail to appear, a warrant will be issued for your arrest and you will have to possibly post bail.
